Anson Calder Puts Down Roots in Salt Lake City

If you would have told me three years ago that we’d be opening our first permanent store—that I’d be miles, both physically and metaphorically, from Wall Street where I started my career, I’d probably either laugh, or cry. Or maybe both.

Our Grand Opening in Salt Lake City, Utah last month was the end of a long journey for all of us at Anson Calder. But it also marked the beginning of something huge. It’s taken us three years of hard work—of trying to find a better way to marry luxury and functionality in a package the world has never seen before. Three years of listening to our customers, testing, sacrificing, and finding the best leather in the world.

And so here we are.

From our first wallet Kickstarter to a corner in Salt Lake’s premier shopping center, November 8th was a big day. We introduced products, including a backpack, tote, toiletry kit, and a brand new Italian Sport Leather that retains its vibrant color while holding up against scuffs, scratches, and water. Based on a year’s worth of feedback from all of you, we came out with a new line of wallets: a cash zipper wallet you need to see to believe; a business card wallet that protects cards from getting dog-eared; a bifold coin wallet that keeps loose change in place without a zipper; and a bifold wallet with the same card push slots you have come to love.

Discounts, food and drink, gift bags, and a fantastic evening. Members of Real Salt Lake even decided to drop in. But the highlight, I believe for all of us, was seeing and hearing from all of our faithful customers who have become a part of our journey over the last three years. Their suggestions and support are what ultimately make evenings like this possible.
